Let's Talk Food & Shops!

30A is home to some of the most incredible food and shopping from around the globe. Award winning restaurants await you. Here's a few of our favorites.

Here's a quick run down of our personal favorite places to eat on 30A

Seacrest Village

Very convenient location to the house, easy 5 minute walk. It's a smaller town center but has a great 30 A Trading Company store that's pretty large and has lots of souvenirs, beach gear and more.

The Rosemary Shops

Fun 10 walk from the house. You can take the trails behind the house through Rosemary Neighborhood or head towards Seacrest Village and then over to Rosemary on 30A just a block over. To walk all the shops it's probably an hour or two of time depending on how serious you are about going in each store. There's lots to see and is a really fun place to mingle.

The Shops At 30A and Highway 98

You'll want to drive but it's a quick easy drive to some really great food and shops.

Alys Beach

Nice ten minute (half mile walk) but there's also some parking available if you wish to drive.  The stores here tend to be very fancy but are alot of fun to stroll in and out of.

The Big Chill (Formerly Called The Hub)

This is a 3 mile drive west down 30A. It's a really neat mini town with lots of food and shops. Absolutely worth your time to spend a meal there! There's nothing really like it.  The food is on one side and the shops are on the other. Lots of fun for all ages here.

Food On Eastern Lake

This is a 5 mile drive west down 30A. There's just a couple places to check out but they sit right on the shore of the Eastern Lake on 30A and have created a really neat atmosphere.

Food a Little Further West Down 30A

Past Eastern Lake and before Seaside there's a few of our favorite spots as well. These tend to have fewer people as they aren't in the middle of a town square.

Seaside Beach

This is a 8 mile drive west down 30A. This is an iconic town where the movie "The Truman Show" was filmed and it's full of character and charm. It's really the town that started the 30A craze 30 years ago. Lots of food and shopping to be enjoyed but expect heavy traffic and difficult parking. The shopping is the real winner here in my opinion as there's a lot to stroll through and it's quite a bit of diverse types of stores.

Let's Talk Golf

30A is home to some incredible golf courses within a short drive. I'm not a huge golfer but the courses below have come recommended by other property owners in the area.

Here's a quick run down of some suggested golf courses.

Windswept Dunes in Freeport is a great public course. It’s about 30 mins away but supposedly well worth the drive. Some say it’s the best kept secret.

Santa Rosa Golf Club is the really the only public course on 30A but has limited tee times so book early.

Camp Creek and Shark’s Tooth are both private courses on 30A but if you are a member of a country club you likely can have your local golf pro call in and get you a spot. The fee may be steep though fyi. I’ve heard $250 per person.

The Nicklaus Course at Bay Point is nice and unique but don’t go on a windy day.

Regatta Bay is another public course people love but it’s not on 30A. It’s on the way to Destin closer to the Kelley Plantation.

Fishermen

Let's Talk Fishing

Here's a few recommendations if you're interested in a fishing charter while you're on vacation.

Here's a quick run down of some suggested fishing charters in the area.

CHARTERS:

I’ve not personally used these guys but they came recommended to me though some other owners of property on 30A.

For Deep sea you may need to drive to Destin or Panama City. Both are 30-45 minute drives depending on where you’re headed.

For fishing in a bay or lake there are several marinas North just 5-15 minutes from the house. As well as dolphin tours or access to the inter coastal waterway.
